Who We Are

Young Dems Washtenaw (YDW) organizes young people in Washtenaw County, Michigan to become engaged in the democratic process through political advocacy, activism, voter registration & participation, and contributions to the growth of the Democratic Party.

We strive to promote candidates, ballot measures, and policies that:

  • Advance economic, environmental, and social justice in all jurisdictions;

  • Help and empower young people and members of marginalized communities to be able to afford to live and thrive in Washtenaw County;

  • Ensure that the Washtenaw County area remains a vibrant, diverse, and welcoming community;

  • Promote comprehensive, equitable, and accessible public education at all levels for everyone in the area; and

  • Defend the human rights and civil liberties of everyone in our community.
